The past November 2008 Dr Espinosa was chosen as one of the 100 best cosmetic surgeons of the wordl during the 52 Meeting of the International Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
Dr. Jorge Alberto Espinosa Reyes is an experienced facial plastic surgeon with expertise in facial and reconstructive surgery. He graduated from the Universidad Militar Nueva Granada, where he obtained his Medical Degree (M.D.), and completed his internship and general surgery residency atthe Hospital Militar Central, in Bogotá, Colombia. He specialized in otolaryngology at the same university. He further specialized in Facial Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetics Surgery in the New York Hospital - Cornell Medical Center, Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Clinic. During his career he has held a number of key administrative posts including Coordinator, Trauma Area at the Hospital Militar Central; Chief, Otolaryngology Service, Clínica Universitaria Teletón, Universidad de La Sabana. His passion for learning and academic medicine is acknowledged in his role as university professor at the Universidad de La Sabana.
Dr. Jorge Alberto Espinosa Reyes has a wide range of clinic experience in different hospitals and clinics in Bogotá. He has been the author of many scientific papers on otolaryngology. Dr. Espinosa has devoted his research to otolaryngology, and head and neck surgery studies, as well as other areas of his specialty.
 Dr. Espinosa is the current President of the Sociedad Colombiana de Cirugía Plástica Facial y Rinología, (SCCPR), the Colombian Association for Facial Plastic Surgery and Rinology. He is an active member of the Asociación Colombiana de Otorrinolaringología, Cirugía de Cabeza y Cuello, Maxilofacial y Estética Facial (ACORL); the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS); the Federación Internacional de Sociedades de Cirugía Plástica Facial. Dr. Espinosa is Board Certified by the International Federation of Facial Plastic Surgery Societies (IFFPSS) subsidiary of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS). Dr. Espinosa is one of the three Colombian surgeons that have been Board Certified by the International Federation of Facial Plastic Surgery Societies (IFFPSS).
In 2005, Dr. Jorge Alberto Espinosa Reyes was chosen by the national health services (EPS) in Colombia, as one of 15 most respected and high qualified physicians in otolaryngology among 300 medical doctors across the country. This article appeared in La nota económica issue, 2005.
